Launched in 2017, the journal Sociétés plurielles is an extension of the interdisciplinary eponymous research programme (2014-2018), which brings together several Île-de-France universities within COMUE Sorbonne Paris Cité.
The journal specialises in the epistemology of the social sciences and historical disciplines. It focuses on articles dealing with the concepts, methods and contexts of knowledge production.
Work on the historical dimension of plural societies is strongly encouraged.
The journal also encourages the dissemination of scholarly results in a variety of forms beyond the written text: images, videos and other visual productions are welcome.
It publishes original articles that have not been submitted simultaneously to other journals, after selection by an international peer-reviewed editorial board. Although the majority of articles published are in French or English, the journal is also open to other European languages.
