Crossing historic field and social geography, we suggest the concept of « territorial event ». This article examines how the spatial approach could improve the concept of event, exceeding the time or media analysis approach. This study is focused on two specific housing projects for Roma, named « Village for social inclusion » and both located in Saint-Denis (93). Roma people live specific social difficulties, because of their migratory status. Characteristics of « territorial event » are in number of three: (1) the new territorial structure bring out surprise and a lack of comprehension; (2) the event is established as “event” for specific actors and specific scale: it depends of the context and it allows to detect several territorial and historical structures; (3) the shortage in the structure of territory: it will be different before and after the territorial event.</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="fr">L’événement a fait l’objet d’attentions diverses en histoire et en sociologie notamment. (3) Quest'evento territoriale constituisce una discontinuità nel trattamento del alloggio auto-costruito e spontaneo (campi nomadi).</dc:description><datacite:subjects><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Saint-Denis</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">specific housing projects</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">urban policy</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">slums</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Territorial event</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">village for social inclusion</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">social geography</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">bidonvilles</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Événement territorial</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">géographie sociale</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">logement spécifique</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">village d’insertion</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">politique urbaine</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">alloggio specifico</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">politica urbana</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">campi nomadi</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">Evento territoriale</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">“villaggio per l’integrazione”</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">geografia sociale</datacite:subject><datacite:subject subjectScheme="author">[SHS.SOCIO]Humanities and Social Sciences/Sociology</datacite:subject></datacite:subjects><oaire:licenseCondition startDate="2017-05-19 14:58:04" uri="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0">Attribution - Pas d’Utilisation Commerciale 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0)</oaire:licenseCondition><datacite:dates><datacite:date dateType="Accepted">2017-05-19</datacite:date><datacite:date dateType="Issued">2017-05-19</datacite:date><datacite:date dateType="Available">2017-05-19</datacite:date></datacite:dates><dc:language>fra</dc:language><dc:publisher>Presses de l’Inalco</dc:publisher><oaire:resourceType resourceTypeGeneral="literature" uri="http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501">journal article </oaire:resourceType><datacite:relatedIdentifiers><datacite:relatedIdentifier relatedIdentifierType="URL" relationType="IsIdenticalTo">https://hal.science/hal-01509606v1</datacite:relatedIdentifier><datacite:relatedIdentifier relatedIdentifierType="ISSN" relationType="IsPartOf">2557-9959</datacite:relatedIdentifier></datacite:relatedIdentifiers><datacite:rights rightsURI="http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2">open access</datacite:rights><oaire:file accessRightsURI="http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2" mimeType="application/pdf" objectType="fulltext">http://societes-plurielles.episciences.org/3666/pdf</oaire:file><oaire:version uri="http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85">VoR</oaire:version><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><oaire:citationTitle>Sociétés plurielles</oaire:citationTitle><oaire:citationVolume>Facing the challenge of the event in the Social Sciences and the Humanities</oaire:citationVolume><oaire:citationIssue>Articles</oaire:citationIssue><dcterms:audience>Researchers</dcterms:audience><dcterms:audience>Students</dcterms:audience></resource>
